I had the pleasure of creating a Joy Collaborative ‘Joy Room’ for a 13-year-old boy named Jayden. As a young person with high sensory needs, Jayden needed a therapeutic space to self-regulate and spend time with his best friend and service dog, Paxton.
My portion of the design challenge: Make the unfinished/unpainted staircase look like stacked shoeboxes to fit the sports-themed room.
