Keri Iwanok
Keri's passion for creating and design started at an early age when she converted her treehouse into the coolest spot in town using the cushions from her Grandma's couch. Though her heart was originally set on painting classic cars, she fell in love with interior painting after taking a side job for a body shop owner in her hometown of Great Falls, MT. From there, she began painting for friends, family, and commercial property owners who gave her full reign to explore her design instinct. She negotiated 'painting for PTO' at her day job after noticing that the conference room needed a refresh and, somehow, always found a reason to pick up a paintbrush. It didn't take long to discover that Keri had a knack for making ordinary spaces filled with ordinary things, feel extraordinary.
After raising a family and enjoying a long career in the legal field, she found her way back to doing what she loves most: helping people fall in love with their spaces.
In 2023, while working as a Sr. Business Operations & Facilities Manager for Total Expert, a MN fintech company, Keri had the good fortune of managing a 28,643 sq ft Tenant Improvement Project. The project allowed her to dig deep into user experience design theory to thoughtfully and creatively overcome pain points and space challenges for TE employees. Working with a team of contractors under time and budgetary constraints while keeping user experience top-of-mind, reignited her love of a good design challenge.
In 2024, Keri combined her painting experience with her eye for detail & design and and ventured into the world of mural painting. Her first mural is located on Main Street, downtown Rogers, MN.
With a head for business, heart for service, and a creative spirit, she is committed to helping people create unique and meaningful spaces.
"For me, design is an intuitive process. I am not formally trained. I simply have an eye for detail/placement, a love for ideation, creation, imperfection, storytelling, and an interest in learning about people. I help clients learn to trust their own design intuition and, together, we create a space that is just right for them."
We work with home and business owners to co-design spaces that are fit-for-purpose and full of personality. We believe that good design should be accessible, regardless of budget, and we pride ourselves on identifying cost-saving opportunities for our clients.
Design insecurity can lead to decision paralysis (inaction) or overspending (the misconception that, in order to love your space, you need to do an expensive buildout or buy a bunch of new crap). It can also lead to hiring the wrong person to do the job.
We help you zoom out and evaluate your needs so that you feel confident and ready to move into action- whether it be in a DIY fashion or working with trade partners. Sometimes you just need a fresh set of eyes and a friend in design to reassure you that small changes can completely transform a space.
At MT Moxie Makes, we are committed to helping our clients implement creative solutions, overcome design insecurity and make the process as enjoyable as the end result.
Our Co-Design Philosophy:
Nobody knows your space better than you- the pain points, what you love, what you don't love, what would make you more comfortable, what would make you light up when you walk in the room, what your budget is and which items have sentimental value. The answers matter, so we do our best to ask really good questions. We start with the desired end result in mind and work with you to develop an actionable plan that gets you there.
Working with us might look like this:
If we are co-designing a residential property, we may focus on incorporating meaningful design elements that reflect your personality and tell a story. Or, in some cases, we may work together to find a new home for some of your belongings in order to create a more organized and less chaotic environment. We may add a fresh coat of paint or a mural to re-invigorate the space. Sometimes a larger team is needed to get the job done- we can walk through that process with you.
If we are co-designing an office or commercial space, we may focus on creating a flexible design plan that optimizes floor plan utilization and increases user satisfaction. We may survey or interview employees and propose design solutions based on their feedback.
If you are preparing to sell your home, we can work with your agent and the staging team to co-create a plan you are comfortable with and simultaneously design your next home.
Our Privacy Promise To You: While we'd love nothing more than to showcase amazing before/after photos, we understand that not everyone is comfortable having their personal spaces displayed on the internet. For that reason, we will never share interior residential photos without your consent. We are equally proud to display your kind words.
